The following quotes come from The Prescriptures, excerpts of the most sacred texts of the Church of the SubGenius - the "Mad Tidings" spoken directly to Man by JHVH-1 through the medium of J.R. "Bob" Dobbs.

The complete Prescriptures were recorded during a 'holy-possession' on reel-to-reel tapes and written in 1953.

It is seven volumes thick, but these quotes come from those sections which directly concern the Last Days of the Covenent. This vivid PreVision of the Twilight Epoch, the ending of the Time of PeE, and the promised Escape from the Planet of the Clocks has inspired and deeply disturbed it's readers.

Concerning the Planetary Alignment of May 2000: May 7, 2000 was the Jewish Date Iyar 2, 5760. On this date the heavenly bodies Venus, Mercury, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and the Moon, were all in a straight line. The historian Josephus says that these seven represent the menorah (lampstand) in the Temple ("Antiquities... " 3, V11:7). This is the date when Solomon started to build the first Temple and Ezra started building the second Temple. The Moon in the Talmudic tradition represents the Messiah, just as does the center lampstand of the menorah. The three branches on either side of the central stem (6 branches) represent man grafted into the Messiah. Similarly, the planets on either side of the Moon symbolize a menorah in the heavens. As the menorah in the Temple symbolizes the Church physically on Earth, an alignment of the planetary menorah in the heavens portends the Body of Christ dwelling in heaven.

VERSE 48: The planets will point at the earth in judgement to mark the beginning of this time.
