Representing the Aussie drum 'n' bass contingency is Perth's own Pendulum, a producer you should pay attention to. Much like other drum 'n' bass artist albums, Hold Your Colour opens with a cinematic intro that delves into sci-fi mumbo jumbo. The narrator claims that Pendulum is on a mission to "rock civilisation," and he comes damn close. "Slam" starts off the album in a big way; this track is a bona fide hit and has been championed by some of the finest DJs in the world. Watch out for thick drums and bass lines, not to mention synths that are catchy and, gasp, rave-y. "Fasten Your Seatbelt" features the Freestylers. As expected, this cheeky track sounds like something that could have been on The Prodigy Experience back in the day. "Girl in the Fire" more than makes up for it with a cool Latin guitar vibe - on a drum 'n' bass track!
