The Weekend

day one, the end of time. the end of time is apt to fill

the first line of happenstance

with a mutants sense of selfhood

followed by flashing lights and a badge

which can be worn proudly next

to the display which offers us

an opportunity

to shelf our disconcert in a bag

with receipts to reminisceabout

the end of time

day two the refusal benign a worthy

misrepresentation of something

that requires no concern beyond the

linear sense that right may reward

unless it scolds

the refusal benign by design asks not how

to arrive but how to decide not

to show

up or be invaded by the guest

who finds no harm in one who stands alone

a target that moves she stares forward

the refusal benign

day three water falls up

in disrepair i find out that

yesterday was both and reflectionproves

our mistakes our are

genuine and that the top of the world is

slightly behind the melody that makes

my tears stand around yours unaffected

the atrocious sight of never

and as always if then i'm a goner

laughs and stitchesgrow dusty and

the last thing remembered

ordained from the orient

is my thigh rising and a faucet

mumbles mocks

water falls up.
